-- Do not remove bandage for at least 2 hours. Once you remove the bandage do not cover again.

-- With clean hands, remove the bandage and wash your tattoo well with unscented (fragrance free), LIQUID DIAL or SOFTSOAP (in the pump bottle) and lukewarm water. If cleaning it while in the shower, your tattoo will be the last thing you wash. Be cautious of     bodywashes, shampoos and conditioners. If these get on your tattoo please rinse off quickly. DO NOT use a washcloth or anything abrasive. Only use CLEAN hands to clean your tattoo during the healing process. Rinse your tattoo thoroughly. Allow to air dry for 10 - 30 minutes, depending on size. Your artist will let you know if more time is needed.

-- With CLEAN hands we recommend that you use a pea size amount of AQUAPHOR or A&D ointment; rub it into your tattoo just like lotion. Your tattoo should barely be shiny if you applied the correct amount. Any excess, dab off gently with a clean paper towel. Wash your tattoo and apply 3 to 4 times daily. Keeping it moisturized will ensure minimal scabbing and peeling, reducing the chance of fading. DO NOT TOUCH YOUR TATTOO OR LET ANYONE ELSE TOUCH IT WHILE IT IS HEALING, unless you are cleaning it. Continue using AQUAPHOR or A&D ointment for the amount of time recommended by your artist. After this time it is ok to use lotion to keep the skin and tattoo soft, but the lotion MUST BE DYE AND FRAGRANCE FREE.

-- Your tattoo may "bleed" pigment during the first few days of healing- THIS IS NORMAL! If you wake up and your tattoo is stuck to your clothing, use warm water to loosen the clothing from the tattoo. DO NOT RIP CLOTHING FROM THE TATTOO! It is also normal for your tattoo to peel and scab after 3 to 4 days. DO NOT ITCH, PICK OR PEEL AT YOUR TATTOO. If you do, you run the risk of causing the tattoo to heal looking patchy.

-- Do not submerge your tattoo in water. This includes the ocean, pools, saunas, hot tubs, and bathtubs for a minimum of 2 weeks. Also, do not expose your tattoo to beach sand, sunlight, tanning beds or any other kind of UV lights while it is healing. After your tattoo has healed keep a high SPF (30spf or more) sunscreen applied at all times to help keep it from fading.

-- Anything that comes into contact with your tattoo during the healing process needs to be clean: clean sheets, clean pillowcases, clean clothing, clean hands, etc.
